CHINESE AMBASSADOR TO GHANA, H.E. MADAM SUN BAOHONG INVITES THE CHIEF DIRECTOR OF THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND REGIONAL INTEGRATION TO HER OFFICIAL RESIDENCE

On February 8, 2018, Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Mdm. Sun Baohong invited the Chief Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration Ambassador Albert Yankey to visit her official residence. Mrs.Amma Twum-Amoah, Director of Economic, Business and Trade Investment Bureau, Mrs. Genevieve Apaloo, Director of Asia and Pacific Bureau and Mr. Samuel Kumah, Director of Policy Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Bureau, as well as Political Counselor of the Chinese Embassy Mr. Jiang Zhouteng were present at the meeting.

Ambassador Sun welcomed Ambassador Albert Yankey and other dignitaries for visiting her official residence. She said that last year, the high-level exchanges between China and Ghana were very close, the economic and trade cooperation achieved fruitful results, people to people exchanges were very active. China-Ghana relations continue to deepen unceasingly. Ambassador Sun pointed out that the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) summit will be held in Beijing this year. China welcomes the participation of Ghanaian leaders to the summit and is willing to work with all parties to jointly make the summit a great success so that the outcomes will benefit the people of China and Africa.

Ambassador Yankey thanked Ambassador Sun for her invitation and for the long-time selfless assistance by the Chinese government to the government and people of Ghana. Amb.Yankey said that China has made remarkable achievements in development. In recent years, African countries have frequently “looked eastward” and hope to learn from China's development experience and ride on China’s fast train of development. The Ghanaian side looks forward to participating in the coming summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and will continue to maintain close contacts with the Chinese Embassy in this regard to make greater contributions to China-Ghana and China-Africa cooperation.
