Chinese Ambassador to Ghana H.E. Mdm. Sun Baohong paid a call on Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts

On 7 March 2017, Chinese Ambassador to Ghana H.E. Mdm. Sun Baohong paid a call on Hon. Catherine Afeku, the new Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts of Ghana. The two sides exchanged views on China-Ghana relations as well as cooperation on tourism and creative arts. The Political Counsellor of the Embassy Mr. Jiang Zhouteng attended the meeting.

Ambassador Sun congratulated Hon. Catherine Afeku on her assumption of office and expressed her gratitude to the Ministry for its long-term support to the work of the Embassy. Ambassador Sun said that China and Ghana enjoy deep traditional friendship and fruitful cooperation on cultural and people-to-people exchanges. Ghana has a long history and abundant resources of tourism and culture. The Chinese side is willing to support Ghana in personnel training and development of tourism and cultural resources so as to further deepen the bilateral relations between China and Ghana.

Welcoming Amb. Sun to his office, Hon. Catherine Afeku extended her gratitude to the Chinese side and Ambassador Sun for their contribution to the capacity building of the Ministry as well as the cultural and people-to-people exchanges between Ghana and China. Hon. Catherine Afeku said that the Ghanaian government attaches great importance to Ghana-China relations and is ready to enhance cooperation with China in fields of tourism and culture to strengthen mutual understandings between the two peoples and consolidate public support for Ghana-China relations.
