Chinese Ambassador to Ghana H.E. Madam Sun Baohong Accepts the Interview with Ghana Broadcasting Corporation

On December 11, 2017, Chinese Ambassador to Ghana Her Excellency Madam Sun Baohong accepted a live interview with Abdul Hayi Moomen, the host of "Moomen Tonight" on Channel 24 of Ghana Broadcasting Corporation. Ambassador Sun answered questions concerning the impact of the 19th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party (CPC) on the world and Africa, the opportunities for Africa and Ghana of the Chinese economic development and the history and development prospects of China-Ghana relations.

Ambassador Sun said in the interview that China-Ghana friendship has a long history. The Ghanaian people are old friends of the Chinese people and she is very pleased to introduce China in a new era to the Ghanaian people. Ambassador Sun introduced the outcomes and impact of the 19th National Congress of the CPC. She pointed out that the 19th National Congress of the CPC set the goal and road map for China from now to the mid of this century. It will lead the Chinese people to build a prosperous society in an all-round way and a socialist modern China further on that basis.

In answering the question on how China achieved rapid economic growth in the recent 40 years, Ambassador Sun stressed that the key to China’s tremendous development accomplishments is to find a road of socialism with Chinese characteristics that suits China’s national conditions, unceasingly deepen reform and opening up and achieve rapid economic growth under the strong leadership of the CPC.

In answering the question on the impact of China's economic development on Africa, Ambassador Sun pointed out that China regards African countries including Ghana as important development partners and is ready to work with African countries to push forward China-Africa cooperation in all fields on the basis of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefits, benefiting the people of both sides. Ambassador Sun said that China will continue to expand its opening up to the outside world, reject protectionism and pursue win-win cooperation with all other countries in the world and push forward the constrction of One Belt and One Road so as to share the dividends of China's development with the world. The further development of China will bring more opportunities to African countries.
