Chinese Ambassador to Ghana H.E. Madam Sun Baohong Attends the Inauguration Ceremony of the China- Ghana Friendship Multimedia Classroom of the Ejisu Senior High School in the Ashanti Region

On December 18, 2017, Chinese Ambassador to Ghana Her Excellency Madam Sun Baohong attended the inauguration ceremony of the China-Ghana Friendship Multimedia Classroom of the Ejisu Senior High School in the Ashanti Region and cut the ribbon. Nearly 1,000 people attended the ceremony including Honorable Alan Kyeremanten, Minister for Trade and Industry, Nana Afrane Okese IV, Paramount Chief of the Ejisu Traditional Area, Grace Amu-Adjei, head of the Ejisu Senior High School, Charles Mawuenyega, President of the Chinese Graduate Student Association of Ghana, Mr. Ye Fei, General Manager of Wynca Sunshine Ghana and local traditional leaders, students and the media.

Ambassador Sun said in her speech that the friendship between China and Ghana dates back to ancient times. China has always attached great importance to supporting the development of education in Ghana. China has built 11 China-Ghana friendship multimedia classrooms in eight regions in Ghana, benefiting tens of thousands of Ghanaian students. Ambassador Sun stressed that since the New Patriotic Party government came into power early this year, the relations between China and Ghana have enjoyed a good momentum of development. The high-level interaction between the two countries has continued and the achievements in economic and trade cooperation have been gratifying. Ambassador Sun stressed that China will continue to support the initiative of "One District One Factory" proposed by the NPP government and encourage more Chinese enterprises and individuals to invest and start business in Ghana and support Ghana's industrialization and economic transformation.

The Minister for Trade and Industry Honorable Alan Kyeremanten extended a warm welcome to Ambassador SUN and thanked the Chinese Embassy for renovating and donating two ICT classrooms in Ejisu Senior High School. He stressed that all the major economies in the world of today attach great importance to multimedia education. China is committed to helping African countries improving the facilities and the environment of multimedia education, building primary schools and multi-media classrooms in Ghana's remote areas and has won appreciation of the government and people of Ghana. Honorable Alan Kyeremanten said that China-Ghana cooperation has enjoyed a good momentum of development. The Tema Port and the electrification project of the five regions constructed by Chinese companies will greatly improve the business environment in Ghana and create a new situation of mutual benefit and win-win cooperation between the two countries.

Before the ceremony, Ambassador Sun paid a courtesy call on Nana Afrane Okese IV, the Paramount Chief of the Ejisu Traditional Area, and both sides exchanged views on China-Ghana relations and cooperation. After the ceremony, Ambassador Sun donated agricultural materials to two impoverished communities in Ejisu.
