Chinese Ambassador to Ghana H.E. Mdm. Sun Baohong Invited Minister of the Interior of Ghana Hon. Mr. Ambrose Dery To the Ambassador's Residence

On 11 July 2017, Chinese Ambassador to Ghana H.E. Mdm. Sun Baohong invited Minister of the Interior of Ghana Hon. Mr. Ambrose Dery (MP) to the Ambassador's Residence. Deputy Minister of the Interior Hon. Henry Quartey (MP), Chief Director Mrs. Adelaide Anno-Kumi, Inspector-General of Police Mr. David Asante-Apeatu and Technical Advisor of Minister of the Interior Mr. Mumuni Abdulai Bawumia attended the meeting.

Ambassador Sun welcomed Hon. Mr. Ambrose Dery to the Residence. She said that China-Ghana relations enjoy sound development momentum. H.E. Vice President Bawumia just concluded a successful visit to China during which the two countries reached many agreements. The two sides should implement the outcomes of the visit without delay. Ambassador Sun expressed her gratitude to the Ministry of the Interior for safeguarding and facilitating the work and life of the Chinese in Ghana, which is beneficial to the personnel exchanges between the two countries. She said that China is ready to enhance cooperation with the Ghanaian side on peace and security, and continue to support the capacity building of Ghanaian police, immigration, customs and other law enforcement agencies. She hopes the Ghanaian side could establish an exchange and cooperation platform with the Chinese community in Ghana and take effective measures to safeguard the personal and property of the Chinese in Ghana.

Hon. Minister Dery expressed his appreciation to the Chinese side for its support of Ghanaian law enforcement agencies. The Ghanaian side will continue to strengthen cooperation with China in law enforcement and take effective measures to protect the personal and property of the Chinese in Ghana.
