Chinese Ambassador to Ghana H.E. Mdm. Sun Baohong met with the Speaker of Parliament of the Republic of Ghana

On 16th May, 2017, Chinese Ambassador to Ghana H.E. Mdm. Sun Baohong met with Rt. Hon. Prof. Aaron Mike Oquaye, the Speaker of Parliament of the Republic of Ghana, and exchanged views on China-Ghana relations, exchanges between the legislatures of the two countries and the illegal mining issue.

Ambassador Sun introduced the latest developments of China-Ghana relations and the position of the Chinese side on the illegal mining issue. Sun said that the Chinese side attaches great importance to the development of Ghana-China relations, and hopes to further promote the bilateral cooperation in various fields including the legislatures of the two countries so as to bring more benefits to the two peoples.

Rt. Hon. Prof. Oquaye expressed welcome to Ambassador Sun for her second visit to the Parliament of Ghana. Hon. Oquaye said that the Ghana-China relations is of great importance, and the overall cooperation should not be disturbed by the illegal mining problem. The Parliament of Ghana would like to actively develop friendly cooperation with the National People’s Congress of China, and promote the continuous development of the bilateral relations.
