Chinese Ambassador to Ghana H.E. Mdm. Sun Baohong paid a call on Minister for Defense of Ghana

On 10 February 2017, Chinese Ambassador to Ghana H.E. Mdm. Sun Baohong paid a call on Hon. Dominic Nitiwul, the new Minister for Defense of Ghana. The two sides exchanged views on China-Ghana relations as well as cooperation on military and security. Mr. Evans Dzikum, Chief Director of the Ministry of Defense and Mr. Chai Zhijing, Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Embassy attended the meeting.

Congratulating Hon. Dominic Nitiwul on his assumption of office, Amb. Sun said that China and Ghana enjoy deep traditional friendship and fruitful achievements in various areas such as politics, economy and trade. Meanwhile, the two countries have also conducted fruitful cooperation on military and security featuring frequent high-level exchanges, projects aided by the Chinese side such as the office complex of the Ministry of Defense, and the various training opportunities provided by China. Amb. Sun emphasized that China will always be a reliable friend and trustworthy partner of Africa and Ghana, and wishes to strengthen cooperation with the Ghanaian side on military and security, among other areas, to promote bilateral relations to a new height.

Welcoming Amb. Sun to his office, Hon. Dominic Nitiwul firstly expressed his gratitude to the long-term strong support and selfless help provided by the Chinese side to the development of Ghana. Hon. Dominic Nitiwu said that Ghana views China as one of its most important strategic partner, and wishes to cooperate with China to register further achievements to meet the expectation of the Ghanaian people with the help of China. The Ghanaian side is eager to further enhance cooperation with China on military and security to realize mutual benefits.
